Library Rules

  • Enter your name & Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering Library
  • No one will be allowed to enter into the stack room without prior permission and knowledge of the Library Staff
  • No single copy book (Library copy) will be issued for home except for reading room purpose
  • Books taken for reading room purpose should be returned back in the same day
  • Books taken for class room teaching be returned in the library on the same day after the classes are over
  • Students can borrow on book at a time, which must be returned within 14 days from the day of issue. Books may be re-issued; if there is no requisition for a particular book by the time.
  • Any students keeping a book beyond the time allowed will be fined @ 50 paisa per day and even be debarred from using the library for one week or more depending on the situation.
  • Any book lost or mutilated must be replaced by the borrower. If the book is one of a series and cannot be available single, the whole set must be replaced. In case of a book being out of print, the borrower must pay a fine as decided by the Principal, to the published price. Till the damage or loss is made good a borrower will have no right to use the library
  • Honours students are allowed to borrow books only for Puja Vacation, which should be returned within one week after re-opening of the College, there after fine will will be charged as per rules, including the vacation period. This fine will not be excused on any ground whatsoever.
  • Students will be issued books only once in a day on Borrower's Card, Return of the same will be allowed after the elapse of a full day.
  • Former Students who have graduated from the College and are studying in Post-graduate classes may, on the recommendation of the Librarian and permission of the Principal, avail the Reading Room facility but not be allowed to borrow books under any circumstances.
  • Library Cards are to be kept with utmost care, loss of which must be reported immediately to the Librarian and duplicate card will be issued on payment of fine. Cards must be surrendered and clearance certificate be obtained before filling in the forms for B.A/B. Com. Final Examinations in each part.
  • Students seeking Transfer Certificate, Library Deposit refund must produce a clearance certificate from the Librarian for the purpose, to the College Office.
  • Computer terminals are available on first come first service basis for 60 minutes slots, Teachers & Students use their discretion to allow longer periods of use if computers are free.
  • The library may recall any book from any member at any time & the member shall return the same immediately.

Strictly Prohibited:

  • Insertion of personal electronic devices into the library computer terminals without first virus computer
  • Gambling and /or accessing pornographic materials on library computer

Not Permitted

  • Soliciting, petitioning or distributing written materials
  • Food
  • Cell phone
  • Disruptive behaviour ( loud talking, Loud noise etc)
